Welcome to
my page!
I am Ramesh Mainali, currently working as a JWST Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland. Previously, I obtained my PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory at the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. During my PhD, I worked with my advisor Dr. Daniel Stark on understanding properties of galaxies during the first billion years of the universe. My current and past research work broadly involves spectroscopy and photometry of high redshift (z~2-9) galaxies. For this, I use datasets from some of the largest ground-based telescopes like Keck, LBT, VLT, MMT, and Magellan as well as space-based telescope like Hubble telescope and Spitzer telescope
